Connect Your Tools

Connect GitHub (optional)

Safe, versioned code changes — every change reviewed, nothing auto-published.

2 minEasyOptional

Why this matters

GitHub is like 'track changes' for your code. When Zylx proposes an improvement it opens a pull request you review — your live site is never edited directly and nothing is published automatically.

What it unlocks

  • Repository health, issues and pull requests
  • Deployment and release history
  • Proposed changes as reviewable pull requests
  1. 1

    Click Connect in Zylx

Why this matters: Zylx installs its own GitHub App. You do not create a developer application or a personal access token.

    • Open Zylx → Connections.
    • Find GitHub and click Connect, then Continue.
    • GitHub asks where to install: choose your personal account or an organization.

    Before you continue

    • You are on GitHub's install screen
  2. 2

Choose exactly which repositories Zylx can see

Why this matters: Access is per-repository. Zylx can never read a repository you did not select.

    • Select 'Only select repositories' and pick the repositories you want Zylx to work with.
    • Click Install. GitHub returns you to Zylx.

    Before you continue

    • The GitHub card shows Connected with your repositories
You can change the selection any time in GitHub → Settings → Applications → Zylx, and Zylx follows it immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • It says an organization admin must approve

GitHub asks organization owners to approve new apps. The request has been sent — once an owner approves it, return to Zylx and click Connect again.

  • Zylx can't see a repository I need

Open GitHub → Settings → Applications → Zylx → Configure and add it to the selected repositories.

  • GitHub isn't available yet

The Zylx GitHub App is still being finished on this deployment. Every other connection keeps working.
